The Joy of Rain

The joy of rain amounts to more
than what gets washed away
the joy of rain also accounts
for all the things that stay
the soaking happy roots
that sing together underground
the fresh and wild blooms
about to let their hearts be found
and all the precious in-betweens
the waving leaves, the stems of green
will drink the cup, and offer praise
by dancing in the rain
